Question: What part of Belize should I stay in?

The most popular destination in Belize is Ambergris Caye, followed by Caye Caulker. Other popular cayes include Tobacco Caye, South Water Caye and Glovers Reef. On Belizes coast, Hopkins and Placencia are the most visited seaside villages, both having beautiful beaches and unique cultural attractions.

Which is better Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker?

Caye Caulker is slightly cheaper than Ambergris Caye. You will notice this by the prices for accommodations, but also the bill in a restaurant (lobster we found a lot cheaper on Caye Caulker than in San Pedro) and activities such as diving or a flight above The Great Blue Hole.

Do I have to stay at a gold standard hotel in Belize?

Does Caye Caulker have a beach?

One of the few true sandy beaches on Caye Caulker, Koko King Beach, offers a fun, resort-like vibe for everyone to enjoy. The beach is located on the north side of the “split.” The island has been split in two by two major hurricanes over the years. At night the beach and restaurant turns in to a dance club of sorts.

Can I drink the tap water in Belize?

Tap water in all Belize locations is not necessarily safe to drink and we recommend you NOT do so. Most restaurants provide bottled water. Belize is a tropical location, so yes.
