Question: How do you tell a Moorcroft second?

Today, guest designers and members of the Moorcroft Design Studio each have personalised monograms. If you find a silver stripe through a WM monogram, it often means the piece is a second quality item or that its imperfect.

What does a red dot on Moorcroft pottery mean?

Be aware: a silver line through the WM monogram denotes a second. In later pieces this may be a red dot or a G inside a black circle. From the start, designs were catalogued and assigned a registration mark.

Is Moorcroft a Chinese?

Compared to many other Stoke Pottery brands, Moorcroft started quite late, created by William Moorcroft in 1897. Now, however, its a worldwide brand and has been growing in quality and prestige ever since its inception.
