Does Marshall have good bass?

Generally speaking, bass players do not love Marshall. Classic Marshall amplifiers sounded superb on all guitars whatever the tone was set to. This was a good thing, because the tone controls really didnt do a great deal. Turning up the treble on my 1978 2203 100W head makes it slightly brighter.
