Question: Can having a boyfriend affect custody?

Unless you have crafted a custody agreement, the court always decides where the child should live based on his or her interest. Moving in with your boyfriend isnt something that can impact your custody, but it is something that brings another party into the equation.

Can a father keep child away from mothers boyfriend?

You may or may not be able to stop the other parents significant other from being around your child. In general, you do not have the power to dictate which adults are around your child when they are with the other parent. When you have your child, you can decide who is present.

Yes, you do have a right to know where you child is being taken (staying) while your ex is exercising parenting time. Further, each you and your ex should have accesss to emergency contact information for communication between the two

Do I have a right to know who my child is around?

Each parent is entitled to know where the children are during visitations. They should also know if the children are left with other people such as babysitters or friends when the other parent is not there. Parents should tell each other their current addresses and home and work phone numbers.

Can I refuse to let my ex see my child?

If your ex-spouse is still unwilling to work with you to reach an agreement and is refusing your visitation rights, it may be time to turn to the court system to enforce the visitation order. Since a visitation order from the court is legally binding, the court can hold your ex accountable for any violations.

Can you block your ex if you have kids?

Courts are generally very reluctant to put such an order in place barring abuse, neglect, or some other extenuating circumstance. Unless a court order authorizes such action, one parent cant block another parent with custodial rights from contacting their own child.
