Question: Why is WhatsApp banned in Germany?

German regulators told Facebook on Tuesday to stop processing user data from its instant messaging service WhatsApp, citing a privacy policy update that could violate European data protection rules.

Why is WhatsApp going to be banned?

WhatsApp has previously spoken about preventing accounts from sending automated bulk spam at scale. It uses artificial intelligence to identify suspicious behaviour from accounts sending a high or abnormal rate of messages and bans millions of such accounts attempting this kind of abuse in India and across the world.

Will we lose WhatsApp?

WhatsApp has confirmed no one would lose any functionality of the app. Some reports previously said features such as calling and posting Status will be stripped off.
