I know that the first Marshall, the JTM45, is essentially the Beano sound of Clapton on the Bluesbreaker album, hence the name amps nickname Bluesbreaker. I have the JVM model which i believe stands for James Victoria Marshall. I think Jim has a few kids and so named his amps after them.
