How long will a DS last?

DS saves are based on flash memory technology. If they use tech similar to flash drives or SD cards they should have about a 10 year retention time. This is not the same as 10 year lifespan. This means if you leave your card idle, unconnected to power it is rated to retain data for 10 years.
